Effects of Multi-component Intervention Using Social Story on the Problem Behaviors and Alternative Behaviors of High School Student with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract
This purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Multi-componet Intervention Using social story on the problem behaviors and alternative behaviors of high school student with autism spectrum disorder. The subject was one high school student with autism spectrum disorders. The study design applied multiple baseline design across behaviors design. The baseline, intervention, and maintenance were followed. The intervention was done in a special class, which is a natural environment for the subject student. The maintenance was carried out three times on the same condition as the baseline one week after the end of the intervention. These results indicated that Multi-componet Intervention using social story is effective for decreasing the problem behaviors and increasing the alternative behaviors for the high student with autism spectrum disorders. And the Multi-componet Intervention using social story is effective for maintaining. The results of this study suggest that multi-component Intervention including the social story for high school students with autism disorder, through collaborative team approach among various members of autism student s social environment, is effective in reducing student s problem behavior and increasing alternative behavior.
